Just a couple of days ago, UFC President Dana White said he was meeting with Floyd Mayweather’s team. And while he did not say what it was about, recent comments (by both parties) suggested it could be about a UFC run. Instead, according to White himself, it’s about boxing.
Speaking with TMZ on Thursday, he would clarify.
“No, it’s about getting into boxing.” White would ultimately concede, however, that “Floyd gets killed in MMA.”
So, it appears as though White is simply looking to expand his interests. We suppose if you want to be a boxing promoter, contacting Mayweather is the way to go about it. Of course, this makes much more sense than Floyd trying his hand(s) at MMA.
He’s 40 years old, after all. It would only be a paycheck to him anyway. He can make money in other ways. So, how seriously are you taking Dana White, boxing promoter? Better yet, does Floyd put the gloves on one more time? Of course, Mayweather’s last fight would be in August against Conor McGregor.
Speaking of, he should be back soon. Perhaps the three parties could work out a deal. Wouldn’t that be something? In the meantime—sorry, fight fans. It looks like Floyd Mayweather isn’t stepping into the octagon anytime soon.
