Greg Hardy doesn’t turn 30 years old until July, but his NFL days are probably over. However, his MMA career appears to be going swimmingly. And on Friday night, Hardy would win his third amateur MMA bout in just 14 seconds.

Taking nothing away from Hardy, but… okay, that’s exactly what we’re going to do here. Fighting out of the heavyweight division, Ryan Chester standsA5’7″alast weighing in at 249 pounds. Hardy, on the other hand, stands 6’4″ and walks around at 270-plus. It’s as clear of a mismatch as you’re going to get.
But one has to start somewhere, right? Before being found guilty of communicating threats and assaulting then-girlfriend Nicole Holder in 2014, he would spend five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. After the verdict, the Dallas Cowboys would bring him in for one more season. But Hardy hasn’t played in the NFL since 2015. In the meantime, he would join up with theARichmond Roughriders of the American Arena League in January.
Of course, as is so often the case, said charges would be dismissed and expunged from his record once Holder wouldn’t testify at his appeal trial. That’s how these things go. But once again, the athlete’s career is humming along just fineaso to speak. Who’s next? It doesn’t matter right now. He’s off to a flying start.
Perhaps find someone his own size next time, though.
