A couple of weeks ago, a report would surface suggesting UFC superstar Conor McGregor wouldn’t fight in the Octagon ever again. Simply put, Dana White doesn’t know. Now, however, the Irishman may be on the verge of finalizing his next opponent.
But here’s the catch: it’s another boxer.
And not just any boxer, mind you. After all, how could it be? Turns outait’s Manny Pacquiao. But let’s go a little further, shall we? Turns out, the two stars are in preliminary talks for a bout.
At this point in his career, McGregor can do anything. But at the same time, a bout with Pacquiao would almost solidify the assumption that his UFC days are done. Then there’s the discussion over what this fight would draw.
The Irishman shows time and time again that people will watch him fight. Whether it’s to watch him lose, talk trash, or bothapeople watch. We assume this would be no exception. But what about for Pacquiao? He’s 38 years old now. His shine is all but gone at this point. And, he never quite had the star power of someone like Floyd Mayweather.
Of course, that doesn’t mean people wouldn’t still be interested. As for the boxing legend himself? Well… he’s definitely open to it.
“…we have not yet had any follow-up conversations. If we can negotiate it, I have no problem. It is OK with both of us.”
So, how would you see this fight playing out?
