Conor McGregor hasn’t been his usual vocal self leading up to his lightweight showdown with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Perhaps it’s because he’s focusing solely on his training. After all, it’s similar to his approach for a rematch with Nate Diaz after losing their first bout.
Tuesday afternoon, the Irishman put up this video showing his preparations.

McGregor went on to capture the lightweight belt over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November of 2016. But then he wandered into boxing for a lucrative showdown with Floyd Mayweather, where he may have earned a nine-figure pay day. White would strip him of the lightweight belt earlier this year for lack of activity. And ultimately, Nurmagomedov took it at UFC 223 with a win over Al Iaquinta.
Meanwhile, McGregor is riding a two-fight UFC win streak. His last lost came against Diaz in March of 2016. And, he holds a career 21-3 record. But Khabib has him beat there. Not only is Nurmagomedov 10-0 with the promotion, he’s 26-0 overall. In other words, this should be a good one.
Yet other than replaying the notorious bus attack incident, there has been a conspicuous lack of promotional material for UFC 229. Strange, considering that this could be the biggest card in UFC history. In fact, UFC President Dana White suggests it could hit 2 million buys.
