The second returns for the NBA All-Star game are in, and the Golden State Warriors are everywhere. In fact, four of the top-seven vote-getters represent Golden State. But forward Draymond Green doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with that. In fact, Draymond believes the Warriors deserve four all-stars for the second consecutive year.
“I kind of heard quite a bit this year that we should only get three max, but I don’t see why not four? If winning has been the (blueprint to get four stars in) every year, why should it change up?”
If the Warriors do get four all-stars this season, it will mark the ninth time in NBA history that a team sends four different players to the All-Star game. However, the Warriors would be the first team to do so in consecutive seasons. But why are people acting strange about it this season? Draymond has one idea in particular.
“With Jimmy (Butler) coming over, with Carmelo Anthony coming over, KAT (Karl-Anthony Towns) obviously an up-and-comer. That’s probably why it’s more of a debate now, but I don’t see why it should change. Our record is pretty good.”
But just because the west possesses more individual talent this season than last doesn’t mean the best of the best shouldn’t be invited. And in the case of the Warriors, they are just that.
