The Cleveland Cavaliers don’t have much reason to like Danny Ainge. After all, he’s building a potential super-power out east. And remember, this playoff run has been without both Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. But that’s only the short of it. During Cleveland’s slump this season, the Cavs would reportedly label Ainge a ‘f—ing thief’ for the Kyrie trade.
Of course, it’s not difficult to see why, right? Irving was Cleveland’s second-best player behind LeBron James. But Ainge was able to get him for a hobbled Isaiah Thomas, a lottery ticket (that would only turn into the No. 8 pick last night), and scraps. It’s not wonder the Cavaliers hate him. He’s a helluva lot better than their front office.
Here’s how it breaks down, according to The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd:
“Danny Ainge is a f—— thief.”
What more needs to be said, really? In the meantime, the Cavaliers find themselves down 2-0 to the Celtics. And, there are no answers in sight.
Is LeBron’s second stint in Cleveland coming to a close?
