Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier has been the subject of trade rumors recently. And thus far, the Phoenix Suns are the team that’s reportedly stepping forward with a big offer. And they sure could use more talent. After all, they’re just 2-8 to start the young season. But Celtics GM Danny Ainge was quick to put any rumors or reports of Terry Rozier being “discontent” with the team to bed.
“I talk to Terry quite a bit and I haven’t heard any of those types of things, so I don’t know how reliable the sources/rumors are. If he were feeling that way, I think he’d share it with me,” Ainge told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Adam Kaufman.
So how did this rumor start? Well, we have big-time Boston sports fan Bill Simmons (of The Ringer) for it. After all, it seems to be because of this tweet.
Unexpected early-season Celts subplot: Terry Rozier (restricted FA next summer) has been unhappy w/ his PT all season, word has gotten around the league, and everyone now knows the Celtics need to trade him… which, of course, makes it harder to trade him.

He seems pretty sure of himself.
Additionally, Ainge tells Kaufman that Rozier hasn’t been approached by other teams for possible trade talks. However, that doesn’t line up with a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania. In other words, who in the heck knows?
Rozier would average about 26 minutes per game last season with the Celtics. And in the playoffs, that went up to 36.6 minutes with Kyrie Irving out. But now that Irving and others are back this season, Rozier is averaging 22.6 minutes per game. Is that enough to keep him happy? Time will tell.
