Lonzo Ball didn’t have the best of NBA debuts Thursday night when his LA Lakers took on the Clippers.
But if you thought that was going to keep LaVar Ball quiet, think again.
Friday morning, LaVar Ball appeared on ESPN’s First Take to discuss his son’s debut—one that saw Lonzo go 1-for-6 from the field with three points, nine rebounds and four assists in just under 30 minutes of action.
Reportedly, Clippers’ guard Patrick Beverley—who had the task of guarding the Lakers’ rookie—took a few shots at him after the game. We’d repeat them here, but…let’s just say it’s not suitable for general audiences.
LaVar, as is typically the case, had plenty to say. But we’ll leave it at this:
“Who is Patrick Beverley? He played all last year and nobody said nothing about him. Now we are looking at your first game. Why? Because Lonzo’s name is attached to it.”
But just in case you wanted a little more…
This was just Game 1. So if this is only the start, Los Angeles is in for quite the season. But one thing’s for sure: we’ll all be watching. And for LaVar and is his Big Baller Brand, isn’t that what matters most?
