The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors are 1-1 heading back to Oakland for Game 3. But Game 2 wouldn’t be just any win for Houston on Wednesday night. The Rockets would blow out the Warriors by a score of 127-105. And perhaps the biggest surprise of the night? The Hamptons 5 failing entirely. Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would finish with a total plus-minus of -18.
However, Durant isn’t worried about that. After all, you’re not going to be on your game every night. In fact, Durant was the only one of the five consistently knocking down shots last night. Speaking to Tim Kawakami after the game, he says:
“No, shit happens. We’re not invincible.”
He also knows how good the Rockets are.
“We’re not the juggernauts of the NBA. We’re a good team, but that’s a great team on the other end, as well. … That’s the beauty of the game, man. Some games you’re going to get knocked out… How you respond, that’s the beauty of it.”
Durant did lead all scorers with 38 on Wednesday. His four teammates, however, would combine for just 35. But can they all get it together in Game 3?
See you Sunday night.
