On Thursday, the Browns would fire Sashi Brown, thus beginning a search for their new general manager. Well, turns out that the search didn’t last very long.
The Browns have hired former Chiefs general manager John Dorsey to fill the void. Reports indicated Dorsey was in the running for the position soon after Brown’s firing.

Dorsey was a big reason why the Chiefs became playoff contenders in the last few seasons. Even though they fired him in the offseason, his draft picks of Travis Kelce, Marcus Peters, Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, and Patrick Mahomes will carry the team for some time. He has plenty of picks to work with in 2018 since Cleveland holds six picks in the first three rounds.
The selection of a general manager was quick, and it will probably raise questions of the Rooney Rule. However, this is good news for a franchise that needs to turn things around quickly.
