Mat Ryan is getting PAID. Again.
Earlier this morning, reports would break about a potential Aaron Rodgers extension in Green Bay. And while he still has two years remaining on his contract, GM BrianAGutekunst is confident of an extension coming soon buy baclofen online without prescription, buy lioresal online. .
“Both sides are working towards it and weare confident weall come to an agreement soon. Weare pretty confident that this is something thatas taking its normal course, its normal time.”
But now, things are probably about to change. That’s because Thursday afternoon, reports would break on a mega-extension… for Matt Ryan. PerAChris Mortensen of ESPN, the Falcons are guaranteeing him $100 million over this five-year extension.
“Matt Ryan has agreed to a 5 year extension with Atlanta Falcons that makes him first $30 mill per year QB w $100 mill guaranteed, per league and team sources.”
Ryan, however, is coming off a very mediocre 2017 season. His completion rate would fall from 69.9 percent in 2016 to 64.7 percent this past season. He threw 38 touchdowns two seasons ago and just 20 in 2017. And lastly, Ryan would go from throwing seven interceptions to 12 INTs. That’s a whole lot of mediocre.
Matt Ryan is a pretty good quarterback. But, $100 million guaranteed good? After all, this is the next five years we’re talking about. And he turns 33 years old in two weeks. In the meantime, the Falcons are coming off a fairly successful 2017 campaign as a whole. A 10-6 regular season record with a wild card round victory is good. But with Ryan, under this new contract, the goal is clear: It’s time to win a Super Bowl.
