Take a deep breath, Rams fans. We don’t have good news for you. Sunday afternoon against the Broncos, wideout Cooper Kupp would suffer a nasty looking knee injury. But that’s not all. He would also have to leave the field on a cart.

And here’s the illegal tackle that would result in an injury.

If you’re wondering why that tackle is illegal, that would be why.
Now yes, the Rams are already 5-0 this season. And yes, they currently hold a 13-3 lead over Denver going into halftime. But Kupp going down is serious. Through five weeks, he caught 30 of his 41 targets for 438 yards and five touchdowns. It took him 15 games last season to rack up five touchdowns. He’s also averaging 14.6 yards per reception — up from 14.0 the year before.
Quarterback Jared Goff still has plenty of weapons to choose from, not the least of which being halfback Todd Gurley. That doesn’t mean losing Kupp isn’t a big blow.
Hopefully the injury isn’t as bad as it looks.
