Barcelona aren’t done spending just yet.
Last week, La Liga’s leaders brought inALiverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. This week, they are addressing the defensive side of the pitch. Thursday, they reached an agreement with SE Palmeiras to sign defender Yerry Mina forAa11.8 million. He’s also just recently made his Colombian national team debut, coming on as a substitute at the Copa AmArica Centenario. But he didn’t stop there.
Mina also played a role in Colombia’s 2018 World Cup qualifying journey, helping to keep four clean sheets in the five matches he played in. Add in his first international goal against Uruguay, and we’ve suddenly got a very capable center-back on our hands. But is Barcelona done spending? We cannot be sure.
In the meantime, they leadAAtlAtico Madrid by nine points in the La Liga table. They lead Real Madrid by a whopping 16 points. Now we don’t know what type of role Mina will play, of course. But earning a transfer to Barcelona is a step up regardless of how you look at it.
And if Mina already shows this much promise on the international stage, Barcelona fans are going to love him. Because the defender is only just getting started.
