Is Conor McGregor ever going to defend his UFC lightweight title against Khabib Nurmagomedov? We don’t know. But he sure as heck isn’t going to stop talking trash about it. On the morning of January 1, McGregor would engage. This, of course, comes after Nurmagomedov’s Performance of the Night honors over the weekend.
Needless to say, the Irishman isn’t impressed. Warning: coarse language follows.
But Khabib isn’t backing down.
Shut up #tapMashine #🐓

Of course, that doesn’t mean McGregor is going to stop. He isn’t known for doing so; why start now?
Truly truly truly get on your fucking knees and beg me. Otherwise I don't give a bollox.
My whiskey is out this year and thats Diddy bread.

There you have it, fight fans. The UFC hasn’t seen the Irishman perform since November 12, 2016. His lone loss in the UFC is to Nate Diaz, way back on March 5 of the same year. But he doesn’t seem eager to get back into the octagon.
Meanwhile, Dana White hopes to see him back by summer. However, it doesn’t look like the lightweight champion is in any hurry to return. At this point, the UFC President may have to shell out something fierce to bring him back.
For fight fans, this is a fight that needs to happen. This is a fight that Conor needs to stop running from. However, with every word he utters we learn what we already know. The UFC needs McGregor a helluva lot more than he needs the UFC.
